The Sinner has returned!
KK Downing, the former Judas Priest guitarist, who last recorded with the band on 2008’s Nostradamus album, is set to release his first recording with his new project, KK’s Priest. Sermons of the Sinner will be released on October 1, 2021, and if the 4 singles that have already been released are any indication, it has definite face-melting potential.
Downing has teamed up with ex-Judas Priest vocalist Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, guitarist AJ Mills (Hostile), former Voodoo Six bassist Tony Newton, and DeathRiders/Cage drummer Sean Elg. Another ex-JP member, Les Binks, who recorded on Stained Class and Hell Bent For Leather, was not able to record on Sermons due to injury, but will make guest appearances on tour.

KK is never at a loss for words, and in the interview, he touches on what took so long to finally record some music again, the return of the Gibson V in the video for Brothers of the Road and where that guitar came from, and for all the guitar players out there, how to play with controlled feedback.
(On a personal note, when I first started Let’s Rock, it was called Korea Guitar. I boldly sent out about 100 emails to internationally known guitar players, in quest of my first interview for the site. Two of them, Steve Stevens (Billy Idol and KK Downing answered, which led to more and more interviews. So, if you like what you see/read/hear, it’s because of KK. If you don’t, I blame KK.)
I hope you enjoy this interview with a true metal legend. He’s not only a great axe-man, but also a great storyteller and a kick ass dude. Get ready for SERMONS OF THE SINNER!
